Download & Convert Videos From YouTube

My nephew constantly harasses me because I don’t know how to download videos from YouTube! So rest assured little monster, Super Aunty know how..now.

I went to the Keep Vid website. I simply inserted the url of the YouTube page displaying the wanted video and hit download. The file you download has to be renamed to .flv to be viewed. If you don’t have a flv player check this article about free multimedia goodies I wrote earlier. There is a good freeware flv player listed.

But what if you want to put your video on your iPod or PSP? The file needs to be an .MP4 and the Keep Vid’s MP4 link does not work.

So I headed over to Media Convert. A site that lets you convert practically anything to any other format. The whole process took about 3, 3 and half minutes. The converting and downloading part is not too long. Keep in mind this is only a video. I wouldn’t use this to convert movies.
