Make A Gazillion Dollars Overnight Doing Nothing!

The Bait

I just saw the worst crock ever! I prefer not mentioning any names by fear of getting virtually lapidated.

Come on man there are no secrets to getting rich online. All there is, is optimization, SEO and marketing! If your real smart and equip yourself with proper tools (keep in mind that most effective tools cost money) you can find ways of generating passive income.

Passive income is when you make money without being directly involved. To be able to achieve this you must automate your blog. Have a news letter subscriptions and gather a list of targeted and potential buyers. Send them monthly news letter pointing them to affiliates or other products you sell. Develope an autorespnder campaign to have strong followup options. Offer video training or automated learning. Make your site as interactive as possible and try to involve yourself the less as possible so you will have time to work on product and service.

The secrets that the shameful site or sales page I saw is atrocious. The author will sell you an e-book containing nothing more than is reveled in this blog. If you pay him well over a 100$ and pay for your own hosting (which happens to be his referral link) he will give you a free money making web site. The best part is you can be totally ignorant and make millions doing nothing because the site auto generates it’s content…

The Catch

1–The first problem I see is that obviously the site’s content can’t be quality and I’ll tell you why later. So if the content is not quality you wont rank well and you won’t make that much money from ads.

2–Since the site is new, most ad networks and paid to review sites wont even accept your blog.

3–Site that auto generate content are actually often scraping the rss feeds of people who put time and effort in writing unique and quality niche content. Depending on the way this is achieved you might even be hot linking to someone’s images. You would be accused of plagiarism and bandwidth theft. The person will have to pay every time his/her image shows up on your server!

4–In order to monetize your blog your articles must be unique. Google will hate your guts for spamming the web and posting duplicates of the same article and I don’t think a noob could make it without Google.

Prevent Your Content From Being Scraped

There are some very simple you can take to protect your feed’s content. For starters you should only publish partial feeds or excerpts.

If you are comfortable with searching for and ip address I read an excellent article about cloaking your feed. So if a scraper where to steal your content the cretin would scrape something totally different than expected.

WordPress Users

You have plenty of plugins to choose from.

CopyFeed: My favorite, CopyFeed not only adds a digital stamp to the post, but also embeds the IP address of the feed reader. It also adds a copyright statement. With this plugin you can even ban unwanted IPs from accessing your feed in the future. The power of this plugin lies in the ability to detect scraping and then take immediate action.

Digital Fingerprint Plugin: is like CopyFeed, but it is simpler to use and FeedBurner friendly.

If you code, simply add the modifications to your feed directly by editing your template and WordPress core files.

Feed scraping is becoming more popular each day as tools are becoming more sophisticated and easily available. We must fight scrapping because it is plagiarism it is theft and costs thousands in bandwidth over not so long periods of time.
