Getting backlinks by writing quality content is the way to go but you will see it takes a whole lot of time. If you want to make money blogging time is something you can’t waste.
I found out recently that Google does not judge every link the same way. We all know that a site with a high pagerank that links to you is better than a site with low pagerank. What I learned is that Google “trusts” and “loves” government sites.
How do I get a backlink from a government site? It’s easier than you might think.
The links I am thinking about end in .edu - these sites are generally reserved for educational institutions. Teachers, students and faculty set up blogs on .edu domains all the time.
To get one of these sites to link to you is quite simple if you follow the rule of thumb: Don’t spam or leave useless comments because they will be moderated. Build on the conversation and you chances are good of reaping a nice quality backlink.
Go to Google, and type in this search string or copy and paste it in the search box: (replace “your topic” by what you want)
site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” -”comments closed” -”you must be logged in” “your topic”
The minus signs tell Google not to show sites that have these variables, in this case we don’t want blogs that are closed to comments, or blogs that say you must be logged in to comment.
If you have family or friends in college, harass them so they link back to you! It’s worth it. If you try it out came back and tell us about it, we all want to hear about it.
