I was thrilled beyond words when I came across a blog dedicated to jquery. I was looking for a way to add tabs to a sidebar and I accidentally came across jQuery.
See two years ago when I designed web sites I enjoyed using JavaScript for various interactive page elements. When I tweaked my WordPress blogs I often used JavaScript. The problem came when I was designing a theme for a friend who knew nothing about Coding, HTML and even less JavaScript. I always had to set up the theme personally for friends. Now that I found jQuery I can just send them a download link to their theme and all they do is install the theme normally. I already bought “Learning jQuery” by Jonathan Chaffer and Karl Swedberg. I promise to post about anything cool I learn.
What is jQuery?
jQuery is a lightweight JavaScript library that emphasizes interaction between JavaScript and HTML. Learning and designing with jQuery is simple and designs look so premium-like it’s out of this world.
jQuery exists as a single JavaScript file, containing all the common DOM, Event, Effects, and Ajax functions. A line of code is added to the header of a document referencing the jquery files. Jquery effects can be included on any page of your blog by pasting the code where you want the element to show up. Every thing is explained on the main page of jquery documentation.
