We read often about trackbacks and pingbacks but how vague is the description. For those who aren’t familiar with the term, here is a description.
Trackbacks: Are a way to notify a web site when you post something referencing the said web site.
When you sent a trackback, a link pointing to your blog article along with with a short excerpt

The purpose of using trackbacks is to get visitors from two different blogs to participate in the same conversation.
WP users: paste trackback link in “send trackback top”.
Pingbacks: Sound a whole lot like trackbacks except backlinks support auto discovery. That means that the blog’s software finds linsk and automatically tires to pingback those urls. Trackbacks have to be done manually.
Please note, do not send trackbacks or pingbacks without actually making a reference to a site or it is considered spam.
Now the fun part Backlinks!
When writing a blog post, do a little Google search to find a do follow blog and reference them by linking to their similar article. Manually add a trackback or pingback.
Finding a do follow blog is quite simple. Search for “Your topic” +”Do Follow”. I like to use Back Link Watch to see how many backlinks I have and where they are coming from. Hope that helps and let me know how it works out for you.
