Please note that you must be a logged in registered user to view and download free WordPress themes. This is only the theme’s support page. You can read detailed installation and customization instructions. This theme has been successfully tested on WordPress 2.6 and on the following browsers: Google Chrome, Firefox, Ienternet Explorer, Netscape, Opera and Safari.

Plugins:

WP-Notable is the plugin used to display the series of social bookmarking icons you can see at the end of my posts. I also recommend Adsense Manager to insert ads in posts and templates with ease. It works with different ads too. The plugin has a neat wrap function that can make text wrap around your ads.

Adsense ready:

The template is tweaked with code to display Adsense between posts and other strategique places. You need to change the affiliate ID, or else I will be getting paid for your clicks. ads_sidebar.php (ads_sidebar.php) Archives (archive.php) Single Post (single.php) Main Index Template (index.php)

Featured Post:

To have a post show up in the “featured” excerpt area you simply create a category called “featured” and the latest post from that category gets displayed. Now there is an important step to take so your featured post doesn’t get repeated in the regular latest post. Open the “Main Index Template” (index.php) in your dashboards theme editor and scroll down to “cat=-3&
amp;showposts=1&paged=$page” like shown below…

   <!--STANDARD LOOP-->

-3 means exclude category 3. Change the number 3 to the number of your featured category. To find the category ID, click on “manage” from the admin’s dashboard, then hover your mouse on the category and the id appears in the bottom-left side of the browser. Or click on it and look in your address bar.

Thumbnails:

To add thumbnails you must first upload your image to the “featured-images” folder. Once your image is uploaded you only need the name, not the url. When you write a post create a custom field called “thumb” and add the name of the image as the value. See this post for further explanations on custom fields. This should cover about everything needed for this theme. If you run into any problems please leave a comment and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Also when a blog post begins with an image you can wrap your text around the image by adding a class=”alignleft” to the image like so:

<img class="alignleft" src="about:image.gif" alt="" />

That should cover everything you need to know to customize this theme. If you run into any problems leave a comment and I’ll answer it as soon as I can. Enjoy!
